What We Do / What Are Databases For?
Please visit the links above to see examples and descriptions of some of
our software solutions.
We develop databases which,
in
a nutshell, do what we say on our home page - help you increase efficiency.
Our projects are generally database driven but we have developed software to
carry out labour intensive functions such as collating & emailing documents, or
performing repetitive and complex calculations and analysis.

There is a lot of time wasted in companies with unstructured data - if staff
don't have a standard method to store information such as employee details,
training records, stock lists, customer details they will naturally create their
own method to store it.
There are several problems with this:
-
Directors, managers and auditors can waste
days trying to gather this information from various departments
-
Storing certain information (such as
personal details) without proper security or processes is illegal
-
Important data is easily lost
-
Sharing information between departments is
difficult. Without a structured process it generally leads to information
being copied into an email or printed off and sent to the person who needs
it who then creates their own method of storing and re-inputting exactly the
same information
-
Staff naturally use their own terminology
which can be interpreted differently by other staff
|
We offer a structured method of storing any type of information so that
everybody knows where to store and access it.
So that everybody can benefit from a new system I make everything as simple as
possible to use, using pre-completed information, drop down boxes (select
from lists), and various other clever timesaving features wherever appropriate.
Bell Info Tech also develop systems to remove the complexity of certain
processes such as calculating expiry dates or flagging up items based on certain
criteria which cuts down the risk of mistakes being made.
BiT have developed many applications for a broad range of companies from
brewers to schools to builders and worked with departments as diverse as
marketing, vehicle maintenance, accounts and quality control.
